My Biography  

      Leslie Reed was born in Las Vegas, Nevada and raised by a loving family. Her mother, an advocate of creativity encouraged her daughter to follow her heart and before Leslie was out of High School she had already achieved several awards for her art creations.

     In 1985 she enrolled in The Savannah College of Art and Design and later graduated from Troy State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art. Leslie’s career continually evolves around teaching and helping others. While living and touring in Europe she managed a multi medium art facility. It was an exciting opportunity to grow personally while sharing her knowledge with others.

     Returning to America she continued teaching in private sectors, public schools, studios, workshops, private lessons and more. Leslie strong belief is that learning is a lifetime endeavor and passes her love of learning to her students. She extends her education with a Master of Art Certificate from the International Correspondence School and is currently completing her Master’s in Art Education.

     Leslie enjoys working with a wide variety of media. As a young artist her passion was textiles and has created many abstracts in weaving, punch/hook rugs and batik work. Her love for the art inspired and challenged her to undertake other Medias and has proudly added drawings and paintings to her repertoire. Her mainstream includes nature scenes, wildlife, flower arrangements and the human form. Leslie’s reward in creating stunning pieces is the stirring of emotion in the viewer’s soul, which takes them to a place within that, might have otherwise gone unnoticed.

    Currently Leslie lives in Gainesville, Georgia on the beautiful Lake Lanier, a perfect surrounding, for raising her precious son and daughter, for taking pleasure in her family, making new friends and continuing to grow in the field of art. She takes pleasure in helping others by offering direction and instilling confidence hoping to enhance their lives and adding fulfillment to hers. Her motto is; “Let’s perpetuate the love of learning for a life time.”
