The Situation:

Mrs. C, the school's administrator was facing a major problem one day when a teacher just walked out of the classroom.  The problem wasn't the students, in fact the students loved their teacher. It was the fact that rumor mill got so bad that the teacher couldn't take it anymore and just dropped everything and left. The teacher was a humble person that didn't throw stones just because someone else did. Mrs. C couldn't believe it and she tried to reach the teacher, but to anyone's quests, he probably was still on the road and not answering the cell phone.

Shortly afterward, Mrs. C received an email from this teacher explaining the situation and being resolved, the teacher was not coming back.  Mrs. C  responded setting the tone that open communication and with must concern for the teachers, as well as others, she was able to arrange a meeting to better understanding. After much discussion and open conversation, Mrs. C doing most of the listening understood that confidentiality, fairness, and some sort of decision on her part was needed.

Mrs. C. offered the teacher some assistance in the form of some professional counseling, but was rejected. Mrs. C then went on to explain the decisions she would have to make that may be based upon ethical and legal principals for the sake and safety of the children, the teachers, and everyone.  The teacher understood and acknowledge with gratitude the opportunity to speak  but was resolved.

The next day, Mrs. C held a faculty meeting and engaged in honest interactions with respect to all faculty and staff.  With great respect for the teacher who left, she demonstrated concern for all involved.
