Form Name: KEON (Heaven, light)
  • Keon is the first of the eight taekwondo forms, Keon is the creative force which inhabits all physical forces.
  • Keon teaches us to be like the constantly changing universe, creative, active and diligent.
  • Students should consider this concept as you perform this form, and allow it to influence the styling of your movements.
  • Keon is the first form practiced by beginners (White belts) in WTF Taekwondo for promotion to Yellow belt.

20 Movements

1. Turn left 90 degrees; low block (left hand); walking stance (left forward)

2. Move forward; center punch (right hand); walking stance (right forward)

3. Turn right 180 degrees; low block (right hand); walking stance (right forward)

4. Move forward; center punch (left hand); walking stance (left forward)

5. Turn left 90 degrees; low block (left hand); front stance (left forward)

6. Stationary; center punch (right hand); front stance (left forward)

7. Turn right 90 degrees; inside block (left hand); walking stance (right forward)

8. Move forward; center punch (right hand); walking stance (left forward)

9. Turn left 180 degrees; inside block (right hand); walking stance (left forward)

10. Move forward; center punch (left hand); walking stance (right forward)

11. Turn right 90 degrees; low block (right hand); front stance (right forward)

12. Stationary; center punch (left hand); front stance (right forward)

13. Turn left 90 degrees; high block (left hand); walking stance (left forward)

14. Stationary; front snap kick (right leg)

15. Move forward; center punch (right hand); walking stance (right forward)

16. Turn right 180 degrees; high block (right hand); walking stance (right forward)

17. Stationary; front snap kick (left leg)

18. Move forward; center punch (left hand); walking stance (left forward)

19. Turn right 90 degrees; low block (left hand); front stance (left forward)

20. Move forward; center punch (right hand); front stance (right forward); kihap

Return: Turn left 180 degrees backwards; end facing forward
